The fascinating story of Cafè des Platanes

I love blue because of the sense of freedom that transmits. A clearsky, an ocean, a lake in the mountains. Blue things carry freedom within. I love the fragrance of white musk because it has a wild scent, likethe woods in whichonly the brave can get in. Einaudi and his notes always take me far away, where no one can find me.

It’s a place where locals and a prestigious tourist clientele hang out. Cafè des Platanes, which now has one of our elegant cantilevered pergolas, has a fascinating story to tell us.

Founded in 1928, it has been ruling for almost a century in Paoli square at the center of Isola Rossa (Red Island) in Corsica, and it’s a real local institution that is part of the rich history of the town.

Run, with love, by the Luciani family for three generations, Cafè des Platanes is still today the place for public relations in the square, for interaction and conviviality, where to have an aperitif with your friends in the shade of century-old plane trees.

That’s where its name comes from, but now you can stay in the shade of our pergola too which transformed this nice historic café without changing its unique atmosphere.

The key for the success of this iconic town Café is surely the ability to renovate itself in different periods of time and to always be updated. We are very proud to have contributed, with our last installation, to the improvement and innovation of this gorgeous historic café.
